Therabody, the tech wellness company has inked a deal within the National Basketball Association by signing a multi-year partnership with the Dallas Mavericks.
Therabody products will be used in Mavericks’ training and recovery regimen, including Theragun percussive and vibration therapy, PowerDot electrical stimulation and RecoverAir pneumatic compression.
Mavericks players and training staff will also take initiative in education sessions with performance and wellness experts, conducted by the educational division of the company, Therabody University.
“Therabody is the industry leader in optimal recovery technology,” said Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. “We’re excited to have them on our team.”
The tech wellness company had already signed collaborations in the NBA ecosystem, which includes the Los Angeles Clippers and athlete partnerships with Paul George, James Harden and Tyler Herro. Therabody has the likes of Harden and Brooklyn Nets teammate Kevin Durant as investors.
“They have a wide range of products that all center around recovery and preparation for activity,” Mavericks head athletic trainer Dionne Calhoun said. “They have their recovery compression boots that provide sequential compression that we put on players after activity to kind of help flush their legs.”
“They have proven that they are committed to athletic performance and recovery.”
“We used them then (for Nowitzki), before they were even an official sponsor,” Calhoun added.
“We’ve enjoyed their products and used them for a number of years before this official partnership.”
