The Football Association inks multi-year partnership with Nike

The FA's association with Nike has been characterised as invaluable in terms of enabling major investments.

The Football Association (FA) has signed a new multi-year collaboration with United States based sportswear company, Nike. Nike will look to strengthen its dedication to women’s football with this agreement.

Nike will be the official ball provider for the Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL), Barclays Women’s Championship (BWC), and The FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup as part of the agreement.

Navin Singh, The FA’s Commercial Director, said, “Nike continuously pushes the boundaries when it comes to investment in women and giving them the opportunity to succeed, which is exactly what we strive to do in the women’s game.

“This is a really positive step for both parties, and I look forward to us working with them going forward.”

Nike has been working with The FA since 2013. The FA’s association with Nike, as a non-profit company, has been characterised as invaluable in terms of enabling major investments at all levels.

The company has also stated that promoting elite football is essential in order to motivate and provide chances for both current and future generations of women and girls to join in the sport.

Whitney Malkiel, Vice President of Global Women’s at Nike, said, “The energy in women’s football in England right now has never been higher as we enter into this partnership with The FA at such a critical moment in our long-standing efforts to help keep growing the women’s game.”

Furthermore, Nike Flight ball innovation will be utilized for the first time in the BWSL, BWC, and Continental Tyres League Cup when the new soccer season commences. Aerowsculpt technology makes use of surface features on the ball to assist air move across it more conveniently.
