The Football Association (FA) has announced a new partnership agreement with the UK’s largest healthcare charity, Nuffield Health. With this new association, Nuffield Health becomes the English soccer body’s health and wellbeing partner for five years.
Nuffield Health is the largest healthcare charity in the United Kingdom. The healthcare charity, which was founded in 1957, runs 31 Nuffield Health Hospitals and 113 Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Centres. It is a nonprofit organization that is independent of the National Health Service.
Nuffield Health will obtain marketing assets from the England men’s and women’s national soccer teams, Wembley Stadium, and the St. George’s Park training facility as part of the deal. The FA and the private medical provider will also collaborate on grassroots projects.
The company’s current Nuffield Health campaign will focus on supporting physical and mental health, as well as the importance of a healthy diet.
Steve Gray, Chief Executive of Nuffield Health, said, “We are incredibly excited to bring our purpose to life through this long-term partnership with the FA. Football is about teamwork and community, and similarly, we believe in the power of working together and supporting one another to help everyone achieve their health and well-being ambitions.
“Our Healthier Nation Index survey shone a light on some of the key health and wellbeing challenges affecting people today, so we’re looking forward to becoming the nation’s teammate in health and wellbeing and playing a key role in showing people how to live a healthier life and achieve better health outcomes using the power of football.”
Navin Singh, Commercial Director of the FA, commented, “The FA aims to use football as a force for good, so it is a fantastic opportunity to be able to link up with an industry-leading health and wellbeing provider to work towards building a healthier nation.
“Nuffield Health’s purpose aligns perfectly with our assets across England teams, Wembley Stadium connected by EE and St. George’s Park and this partnership will help us to continue to unite the game and inspire the nation.”
