Sony Sports Network has secured exclusive broadcast rights for Season 7 of the Tennis Premier League (TPL), bringing India’s premier tennis competition to millions of homes across the country.

The league will run from December 9 to 14, 2025, at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium in Ahmedabad, featuring a mix of elite international players and India’s finest talent.

The matches will air live on Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Sports Ten 5 HD, marking a major expansion in visibility for the only franchise-based tennis league in India. The telecast will highlight TPL’s signature 25-point format, a fast-paced, spectator-friendly system designed to make tennis more exciting and accessible to Indian audiences.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution & International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “We’re thrilled to bring the excitement of the Tennis Premier League’s seventh season to fans across the country and showcase incredible global talent in high-intensity matches. Our partnership reflects our commitment to promoting top-tier sporting action and connecting viewers with the best in tennis entertainment.”

Kunal Thakkur, Co-Founder, Tennis Premier League, added, “Sony Sports Network’s unmatched reach will help us take tennis to every corner of India. This partnership is a big step forward in making the sport mainstream and engaging for fans nationwide.”

Mrunal Jain, Co-Founder, Tennis Premier League, continued, “Having Sony Sports Network on board as our television partner is a massive boost for the league. With their strong presence in Indian sports broadcasting, we’re confident that Season 7 will be our most exciting and widely viewed edition yet.”

For the first time, the top 50 ATP players will participate in an Indian tennis league, marking a major milestone in the sport’s development in the country. The star-studded lineup includes Luciano Darderi (World No. 26), Arthur Rinderknech (No. 28), Corentin Moutet (No. 31), Alexandre Muller (No. 43), and Damir Džumhur (No. 58). Joining them will be Indian stalwarts such as Rohan Bopanna, former World No. 1 doubles player and two-time Grand Slam champion, along with Sahaja Yamalapalli, India’s top-ranked female player.

Entering its seventh season, the TPL has grown into one of India’s most consistent and celebrated sports leagues, and one of the only four Indian leagues to reach this milestone. The 2025 edition will feature eight franchises, Rajasthan Rangers, Gurgaon Grand Slammers, Gujarat Panthers, Hyderabad Strikers, GS Delhi Aces, Yash Mumbai Eagles, Chennai Smashers, and SG Pipers Bengaluru, each fielding top domestic and international players in pursuit of the championship title.

Since its inception in 2018, the Tennis Premier League has successfully blended competitive sport with entertainment, operating under a franchise model inspired by cricket and kabaddi. Its rapid rise, coupled with the broadcast partnership with Sony Sports Network, underscores tennis’ growing commercial and cultural footprint in India.

With a world-class roster, enhanced production quality, and national television coverage, TPL Season 7 is poised to deliver the most competitive and widely viewed edition yet, setting a new benchmark for professional tennis in India and reinforcing the country’s place on the global tennis map.
