Telecom Srbija lands England Premier Rights for 6 years in Balkan region

Arena Sport, owned by Telekom Srbija has bagged the broadcast rights to the English Premier League in the Balkan region. They have signed a six-year deal, from 2022/23 to 2027/28, Arena Sport will stream all 380 matches per season after replacing rival broadcaster Sportklub as the region’s Premier League rights-holder.

United Media’s Sportklub had acquired the elite English tournament from 2019/20 to 2021/22, they bagged the rights from IMG.

Nebojsa Zugic, Director of the Arena Channels Group, said, “Telekom Srbija, a leader in the field of telecommunications and multimedia in this part of Europe, stands firmly behind Arena Channels Group.”

“We believe that this is a great victory for all of us. The Premier League is the top of world club football and it is a great privilege to have it in our offer,” he added.

On the other hand, iQiyi has acquired the rights to the English Premier League in China, they picked up the exclusive digital rights for a four-year deal from 2021/22 to 2024/25. In this agreement, the broadcaster will be offering live coverage of all matches each season.

There is a long list of new deals and agreements along with numerous Premier League renewals after the league launched an invitation to pitch in more than 40 European and Central Asian countries in May.

Premier League’s rights in Spain has been renewed by the subscription sports streaming services DAZN. The English top-flight’s rights have been landed by the Nordic Entertainment Group in the Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

Canal Plus acquired a deal in France, the Czech Republic and Slovakia while Telenet renewed the rights to the Premier League in Belgium.
