Team GB, the British Olympic team, has renewed its long-term agreement with the sportswear giant, adidas, making it one of the longest-running athletic alliances.

As per the renewal, adidas will provide the team players with Olympic gear for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. Along with this, adidas will also supply its range of clothing for the Winter Olympic Games in 2026 and 2030.

adidas will also offer competitive apparel for 36 Olympic summer sports and 16 Olympic winter sports to all the team athletes as part of the agreement. Athletes will also don village and podium attire off the playing field, in addition to the several international youth competitions in which Team GB is competing.

Andy Anson, CEO of the British Olympic Association, said, “Our adidas relationship has become synonymous with our Olympic team, with over 40 years of iconic moments taking place since adidas and Team GB first partnered in 1984. Through unique design partners within adidas’ network, such as Stella McCartney, Team GB’s kit has remained on the cutting edge throughout the lifetime of this partnership. We look forward to seeing some of the world’s elite athletes compete on the greatest stage wearing Adidas and Team GB uniforms for years to come.”

The association’s extension will bring Team GB and adidas’ connection to 40 years, a record for the British Olympic Association.

Team GB will be sporting a kit inspired by the British red, white, and blue, with a design along the front that was influenced by a typeface used by athletes in 1924, commemorating 100 years of sports tradition.

Kathryn Swarbrick, SVP of Northern Europe at adidas, said, “We’re proud to announce the extension of our longstanding partnership with Team GB. Our 40-year collaboration shows the two brands’ commitment to elite performance and style. This relationship has produced some of the most memorable sporting moments and designs in Olympic history. On the eve of this year’s Games, adidas looks forward to seeing the 2024 collection come to life, inspired by the fiery competitiveness within all athletes, on display in Paris.”
