The fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) kicked off on January 9 and will go until February 5, 2026. The WPL 2026 is shaping up to be the next important step in India’s women’s cricket career, with the five-team structure certain to persist amidst increased talk of expansion in future seasons.

The league has firmly established itself as a significant platform for elite Indian and foreign talent, resulting in high broadcast ratings, filled stadiums, and increased brand awareness. With franchises focusing on squad continuity, youth development, and deeper fan engagement, the WPL 2026 is intended to boost India’s commercial and competitive women’s cricket ecosystem.

The first 11 games of the season will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, followed by the remaining 11 games, which includes the WPL 2026 final, at the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara. The 2026 edition is followed by a massive auction in New Delhi, during which all five teams overhauled their squads for the following season.
