Numerous sponsors have also signed on for the WPL's third season, which is expected to advance women's cricket in India.

The third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) kicked off on February 14, 2025, with two thrilling matches, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.

The reigning WPL champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) began their campaign with a narrow victory over over Gujarat Giants (GG). Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh hit explosive half-centuries to help RCB achieve a historic win by chasing down 202 runs.

For the first time, the WPL will take place at four different venues. The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow and the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara are making their WPL debuts. Other venues include Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The first leg is set to consist of six games in Vadodara, followed by eight games in Bangalore. The third leg will feature four games in Lucknow, followed by four at Brabourne Stadium.
