The biggest marathon in Asia, the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) has roped in Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital (HNRFH) as the official medical partner.
The association demonstrates the hospital’s dedication to fostering community health, fitness, and emergency preparation during large-scale athletic events.
The Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital will set up a complete medical support infrastructure throughout the projected route to guarantee the safety and well-being of runners and participants. This involves more than 15 strategically placed medical aid stations with qualified medical teams set up along the race route in key locations, three fully equipped medical base camps with doctors, nurses, and emergency equipment positioned up near the finish lines of the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, Dream Run, Seniors Citizens, and specially trained medical teams to support senior participants and champions with disabilities.
In order to guarantee last-mile efficiency in caring, specialised evacuation teams equipped with stretchers and wheelchairs will be stationed at holding areas and finish lines, along with trained personnel to respond quickly. The medical support will be enhanced by the inclusion of more than 18 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) ambulances stationed at regular intervals, as well as over 15 doctors on motorcycles who are ready to give immediate aid on the course. Strategic medical mapping has been completed to identify nearby access points, exits, evacuation routes, ambulance corridors, and hospitals, ensuring speedy triage, efficient escalation, seamless care transfers, and real-time clinical operational coordination via the command centre.
Furthermore, the hospital has included proactive health initiatives such as CPR and BLS training for staff and volunteers, a digital medical advisory that participants receive before race day, and a direct connection to the Control Room for pacers and volunteers to aid in timely reporting and reaction. Over 100 professional spotters will be strategically placed along the route to continually watch runners and detect early symptoms of discomfort, allowing for prompt medical care.
