Tata Motors renew partnership with Maharashtra Open

This partnership is inspired by the “Sportification of India” motto of the automobile company.

India’s leading automotive manufacturing firm, Tata Motors has renewed its association with tennis competition, ATP 250 series, Maharashtra Open. The multinational firm serves as the title sponsor of the tournament and will continue its partnership for the fourth consecutive year.

This tennis tournament is India’s oldest sports international event and South Asia’s only ATP event. This iconic competition is owned by IMG, licensed by RISE Worldwide and organized by Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis. Through this collaboration, Tata Motors would feature one of its elite hatchbacks, Tata Altroz as the lead car from Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. This partnership is inspired by the “Sportification of India” motto of the automobile company, which will support the tournament that is scheduled from January 31 to February 6, 2022, at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune.

On this extended partnership, Mr Rajan Amba, the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors, said, “India has a great sporting culture and we, at Tata Motors, always believed in making our country a sporting powerhouse with the support we can offer. We are elated to be back for the fourth consecutive year as the title sponsor for Tata Open Maharashtra. We are celebrating the second anniversary of Tata Altroz, which has set the gold standard as India’s safest hatchback and we look to focus our engagements for it during the tournament. Tata Altroz much like the athletes in this tournament has won the heart of millions of Indians and continues to delight everyone with its premium offerings. We are confident to drive tremendous value from this association and hope to share the joy of watching some great tennis as always through this tournament.”

Prashant Sutar, the Tournament Director of Tata Open Maharashtra also commented on this renewal and said, “The tournament has always attracted top players each year and boasts of a history of completing 25 years of World class tennis organised, played and followed in India by tennis fans. We are delighted that Tata Motors have extended their support for this tournament since it was shifted to Pune in 2018. The tournament and the Tata Group share a rich legacy and we are extremely grateful for their continued involvement and being part of this journey.”

The Tata Group has recently initiated some strong commercial moves in the sports industry. Earlier in the month, the brand replaced Vivo for the title sponsorship of India’s most sought after T20 tournament, the Indian Premier League. In addition to this, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also roped in an association with Canada Running Series to become the new title sponsor of the Toronto Waterfront Marathon and Virtual Race.
