Indian cricketers Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma have invested in Hyderabad-based renewable energy company TRUZON Solar, signalling growing athlete interest in India’s rapidly expanding clean energy sector.
The investment will support TRUZON Solar’s efforts to accelerate solar adoption and strengthen its presence across multiple Indian markets as the country pushes to scale up renewable power capacity in the coming decade.
TRUZON Solar operates under Suntek Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. and provides solar power solutions across residential, commercial and industrial segments. The company has more than 17 years of experience in the solar energy sector and has built a broad service and distribution ecosystem across several states.
Commenting on the investment, Charugundla Bhavani Suresh, Founder& Managing Director of Suntek Energy Systems, said,“TRUZON Solar has completed more than 17 years in the solar energy industry, and throughout this journey our primary focus has been on delivering reliable solar solutions while maintaining one of the strongest after-sales service networks in the sector. The decision by Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma to invest in our company reflects their trust in our vision and the credibility we have built in the renewable energy space.
“Solar energy today represents both an environmental responsibility and a national opportunity. At TRUZON Solar, our mission is to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions while continuing to build a trusted, service-driven solar brand from India.”
Following the investment, the company plans to strengthen its presence in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, while expanding into new markets including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha.
TRUZON Solar currently employs more than 580 professionals and operates through a network of over 82 channel partners and service centres across its five-state footprint. The company has also introduced technology-driven after-sales service software designed to improve response times and enhance customer support for residential, commercial and industrial clients.
The partnership also highlights a broader trend of high-profile athletes diversifying into long-term infrastructure and sustainability-focused investments. As India continues to expand its renewable energy capacity, solar companies are increasingly attracting interest from both institutional and individual investors.
TRUZON Solar already counts cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar among its investors, while actor Mahesh Babu serves as the company’s brand ambassador.
The addition of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma to the investor group is expected to enhance the company’s visibility while reinforcing its mission to promote sustainable and accessible solar energy solutions across India.
