Super League brings in egg as official clean energy partner

The agreement with Super League will involve substantial matchday, stadium, and internet advertising from egg.

The Super League, the top tier of rugby league in the UK, has developed a sponsorship agreement with the clean energy solutions company, egg.

The association will make egg the first official clean energy partner of the Betfred Super League, England Rugby League, and Betfred Challenge Cup, demonstrating Rugby League’s commitment to creating a more sustainable future in sport.

Notably, egg delivers solar power solutions and electric car charging items to homes and businesses around the UK, making this collaboration ideal for both teams and supporters. This project follows egg’s successful sponsorship of the England men’s, women’s, and wheelchair teams in last autumn’s international clean sweep, during which egg’s logo was extensively shown both on and off the pitch.

Rhodri Jones, Managing Director of RL Commercial, said, “We are delighted to welcome egg as Super League’s first clean energy partner. Rugby League is committed to environmental sustainability at all levels, and we look forward to working with our clubs and players in helping rugby fans save money on their energy bills.”

Gavin Morse, Chief Marketing Officer at egg, said, “At egg, our mission is simple – bring clean energy solutions to more homes and businesses across the UK. This initiative with Rugby League highlights egg’s dedication to driving clean energy innovation while supporting communities across the nation. As we kick off the next phase in our relationship with Rugby League, we hope our presence at matches will inspire fans to think about how they can bring sustainability into their everyday lives.”

Furthermore, the agreement will involve substantial matchday, stadium, and internet advertising from egg, as well as brand placement on England Rugby League players’ shirts.

The pact follows egg’s previous relationships with Sheffield United, Rugby League club Leigh Leopards, and Northampton Town FC, where the company built solar panels and EV charging spots.
