The SA20 team, Sunrisers Eastern Cape have signed the dotted lines with Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company, BKT Tires.
In this development, BKT Tires has been named the official tire partner by the team for the inaugural edition of the competition.
The franchise unveiled this collaboration through its social media handles, with the caption, “We welcome @bkt_tires as our Official Tire Partner. Because when we Play Together, we Grow Together!”
BKT Tires, the tyre manufacturing giant, has its headquarters in Mumbai and was founded in the 1950s. In 1987 the company started its off-highway tire business, for the past three decades, BKT Tires has laid its primary focus on construction, industrial, and agricultural along with port and mining, ATV, gardening applications and earthmoving. Prior to this development, BKT Tires also landed a deal with Paarl Royals. In the past, BKT Tires also partnered with Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT).
The Gqeberha-based team is owned by Sun Group, which also owns the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Aiden Markram has been named the captain while Adrian Birrell is the coach. The team will kick off its inaugural SA20 campaign on Thursday, January 12 against Pretoria Capitals at 9 PM IST.
