Star Sports adds Daily Hunt as Associate Sponsor

The official broadcaster of the Indian Premier League, Star Sports has signed up with Indian content and news aggregator application, Daily Hunt as Associate on-air sponsor. The brand would be advertising on IPL 2020 to maximize its reach and garner attention of the audience.

Daily Hunt has recently launched its short-video app ‘Josh’ and will be using IPL advertising to promote the same. With this partnership, Daily Hunt becomes the 11th brand in the associate sponsorship category.

Star Sports already has signed up with other brands like PolyCab, ITC, Coca Cola, Rummy Circle, AMFI, P&G, Kamla Pasand as associate on-air sponsors in the category. Apart from this, Star Sports has already signed up with Dream11, Phone Pe, Amazon and Byju’s as co-presenting sponsors of IPL 2020.

Although there were speculations that Star would not be able to fill the slots for IPL due to the ongoing pandemic and financial situation in the market, but Star is riding high on advertisement revenues. It has also decided to continue to charge the same amount for the advertisement slots without any deduction.

As SportsMint reported earlier, more than 100 brands will be advertising either as on-air advertisers with broadcaster Star India, BCCI Central Sponsorships, IPL Team Sponsorships, or as advertisers on IPL Live Streaming feed on Disney+ Hotstar. As per the estimates, it is easily believed that the total number of advertisers on IPL 2020 will easily cross 150 and can also reach up to 200.
