Starlux becomes official international airline partner of LA Clippers

The announcement of the agreement came a few weeks before Starlux launches a new flight route from Taipei to Los Angeles.

The Taiwan airline, Starlux announced a new multi-year sponsorship agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA) team, Los Angeles Clippers.

The announcement of the agreement came a few weeks before Starlux launches a new flight route from Taipei to Los Angeles, with the first flight set for April 26. The airline also announced that it would establish its first American office in Los Angeles and that it would work with the LA Clippers to become its official international airline partner.

CEO of Starlux, Glenn Chai, said, “With Los Angeles being the sister city of Taipei, along with our partnership with the L.A. Clippers, the City of Angels is our airline’s perfect starting U.S. destination.”

Chief Global Partnerships Officer, LA Clippers, Scott Sonnenberg, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with STARLUX Airlines to celebrate their new flight route to Los Angeles, and work together to reach new global audiences.”

The sponsorship agreement also states that Starlux will collaborate with the NBA’s international team marketing programme to offer in-arena operations and hospitality elements in addition to in-flight branding, international sweepstakes and other online and offline activities and promotions encompassing Clippers players and merchandise.

The Starlux flights between Taipei and Los Angeles will start offering Clippers-branded amenities from June 1. During the promotion, packaging for food and beverages will be offered alongside collectibles including playing cards, eye masks, luggage tags, and stickers.
