Star Sports to broadcast Mumbai City FC’s AFC Champions League games

After winning the Indian Super League Winners' Shield in 2020-21, the Islanders qualified for the AFC Champions League 2022.

The sports broadcasting unit, Star Sports Network is all set to broadcast Mumbai City FC‘s (MCFC) AFC Champions League matches, which will run throughout the month of April.

The 2020-21 winners of the Indian Super League (ISL), Mumbai City FC will make their debut in the AFC Champions League when they face Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab FC today i.e April 8 at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

Fans will be able to watch all the games live on Star Sports 3 in India. It is not sure yet if the games will be available on any HD channels as the Indian Premier League (IPL) is also been conducted. Furthermore, live streaming of the AFC Champions League will also be available on Disney+ Hotstar and JioTV as well.

After winning the Indian Super League Winners’ Shield in 2020-21, the Islanders qualified for the AFC Champions League 2022, becoming only the second Indian team, after FC Goa, to compete in the prestigious competition.

Every team in the group will face the other three teams twice during the group stage. The winner of each group, as well as the top three runners-up from each region, will advance to the next round.
