Star Sports has launched the promotional video for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL). Star Sports is the official broadcaster of the football league. The promotional video focuses on giving the sports fans a reason to be happy even after the Indian Premier League (IPL) comes to an end as ISL is set to kick off on November 20.
The campaign for Hero ISL 2020-21 echoes the fan sentiment about what next to look forward to once IPL is concluded. The promotional video is developed with the main focus on Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad – the cities that have teams in IPL and ISL. The video sends out the message that Cricket may be over, but the game still goes on!
The campaign features celebrities and soccer stars representing each city – Bengaluru (Sunil Chhetri, captain, Bengaluru FC), Mumbai (Ranbir Kapoor, co-owner of Mumbai City FC), Hyderabad (Rana Daggubati, co-owner of Hyderabad FC) and Chennai (Anirudh Ravichander, music composer and youth icon) came together to encourage viewers and fans to cheer and support teams for yet another season of the Hero ISL.
A Star Sports spokesperson said, “We wanted to continue and capitalize on the vibrant and voracious appetite for sports that cricket has created in the country. As the festival of cricket gets over, football starts so that fans have another reason to celebrate and cheer for their city.”
The seventh season of the game will be broadcasted on the Star Sports Network, Disney+ Hotstar VIP, and Jio TV. The entire tournament will be played in Goa due to the coronavirus pandemic. All matches will be held behind closed doors in three stadiums – the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, the GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim, and the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco.
