Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar to air fifth edition of Indian Sports Honours

The celebration will recognise some of the top athletes in the country with 10 jury honours, four popular choice honours, and a lifetime achievement honour.

The Indian Sports Honours (ISH) 2024, India’s top event that celebrates exceptional achievements across the sports spectrum, is all set to be aired on Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar on November 18, 2024, at 5 PM IST and 10:30 PM IST.

The celebration will recognise some of the top athletes in the country with 10 jury honours, four popular choice honours, and a lifetime achievement honour. This year will also feature a new award for Grassroots Initiatives of the Year, recognising entities that make significant contributions to the growth of sports at the grassroots level.

The jury for this prestigious event was chaired by Abhinav Bindra, an International Olympic Committee (IOC) member who won India’s first individual Olympic gold. Alongside him were great Indian athlete and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President P.T. Usha, former World Number One shooting Anjali Bhagwat, and Sanjog Gupta, Head of Sports at Disney+ Star. The panel also featured Vijender Singh, a boxing Olympic bronze medallist, Yogeshwar Dutt, a wrestling bronze medallist, and Sardar Singh, a former Indian hockey captain and player, who all contributed their knowledge and insight to the selection process.

Cornerstone Sport conceptualised the Indian Sports Honours ceremony, an uncommon occasion that gathers elite athletes, sports celebrities, coaches, recognised Bollywood icons, and influencers to recognise the devotion and achievements that characterise Indian sports today. The main event, exhibiting the athletic success accomplished over the last year, as well as moments recognising the inspirational journeys of the country’s best sports talent, are among the event’s highlights.

The broadcaster will feature numerous high-profile guests at the event, including Sania Mirza, Abhinav Bindra, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Pandey, Sarabjot Singh, Lakshya Sen, Rani Rampal, Padhmashri Muralikant Petkar, Harmanpreet Singh, and Avani Lekhara, among others. The main event will be televised on November 18 on the Star Sports Network and Disney+Hotstar.

Sportsman of the Year (Individual), Sportswoman of the Year (Individual), Para-Athlete of the Year (Male), Para-Athlete of the Year (Female), Coach of the Year (Male), Coach of the Year (Female), Team of the Year (Male), Team of the Year (Female), Sportsman of the Year (Team), and Sportswoman of the Year (Team) are among the honours that the public can witness.

Other honours includes Fan Club of the Year, Performance of the Year (Female), Popular Choice Honours, Club of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Honour.
