Star India witnesses record-high viewership for IPL 2021

Star India has accumulated 380 million views so far in the VIVO IPL 2021.

Star India network is witnessing a rapid increase in its viewership after the commencement of the second phase of the VIVO IPL 2021. The network is set to record 400 million views for the fourth time in a row and is currently at 380 million views up until match number 35 (this is 12 million higher than what Vivo IPL 2020 recorded at this stage).

The second phase of the VIVO IPL 2021 has started in the United Arab Emirates and is witnessing a rapid rise in viewership across the Star India channels. Viewership engagement has been steady at 32% per match. With the tournament heading towards the knockout matches, Star India can expect a remarkable surge in viewership.

Much of the success for Star India this season can be attributed to a variety of different factors. One of the primary focuses has been on delivering regional and consumer-specific content which has been immense in generating views. Moreover, there are various behind the scenes shows which give exclusive coverage to fans about their favourite teams. Some of these are Knight Club (Kolkata Knight Riders), Inside RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore), The Super Kings Show (Chennai Super Kings), MITV (Mumbai Indians) and Ye Hai Nayi Dilli (Delhi Capitals).

Additionally, the pre-match and post-match coverage by experts and pundits have also added a certain element that attracts fans. Programs like Byju’s Cricket Live, Cricket Countdown and Game Plan give comprehensive coverage about each match.

We are proud to have delivered IPL to over 380 million viewers for the fourth time in a row. The last two occasions have been special as we navigated unprecedented circumstances and overcame challenges in bringing IPL to fans in the comfort of their homesThe business end of the IPL always generates a great deal of anticipation among fans that we captured in our campaign, #AsliPictureAbhiBaakiHai. We look forward to a very competitive and immersive second half of the season before we head into the pinnacle of T20 Cricket, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, later next month,” said a Star Sports Spokesperson.
