There has been a long dispute between SLC and players regarding new contracts. Sri Lanka’s tour of England was in jeopardy as players refuse to sign the tour contracts. However, players decided that they will go for the tour without signing the contracts. SLC offered the players a new performance-based pay scheme designed by a cricket board panel that includes former head coach Tom Moody.

As of now, the SLC will have to find an agreement with players to end the dispute. The three T20i matches will be played on the 23rd, 24th, and 26th June 2021. The first two games will be played at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, and the final match at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
