Sports Interactive inks licensing partnership deal with UEFA

The multi-year deal also contains licensing rights for the Women's Champions League.

The video games developer, Sports Interactive has announced a new licensing partnership deal with the European football governing body, UEFA. The European club competitions will be included in this year’s edition of the Football Manager soccer simulation title as a result of this collaboration.

The forthcoming version of Football Manager will be launched on November 8. The game will include tournaments like UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, and UEFA Super Cup.

The multi-year deal also contains licensing rights for the Women’s Champions League, which will appear in future editions of Football Manager as it misses out from the 2023 edition.

Miles Jacobson, Sports Interactive Studio Director, said, “Football Manager 2023 marks another significant step forward for the Football Manager series as we introduce the Uefa club competitions and bring the game to PlayStation 5.

“Adding these historic competitions is an ideal fit for all parties involved and will add another dynamic and challenging element for fans that makes this year’s edition the most realistic football management simulation available.”
