The Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha has invited applications from former sportspersons to set up Khelo India district centers across the state. The candidates should have represented the state or nation and organizations promoting sports for at least five years.
The Khelo India District Centers across Odisha will be set up by availing financial grants and support provided by the Sports Authority of India under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This initiative wants to develop sports at the grass-root level, focusing on the development of grassroot infrastructure and coaching.
The centers will also provide scientific and qualitative training and coaching in different sports disciplines to the young talent of the state.
The tender was released in line with the decision made by the Sports Ministry to establish 1000 district-level Khelo India centers to engage past champions in sports training in June 2020.
The last date for submission of the complete application through email is October 20.
