The BC Jindal Group has officially announced the launch of Sporting Club Delhi (SCD), marking the return of professional football to the national capital.
The club, a rebranding and relocation of Hyderabad FC, is set to make its competitive debut in the upcoming AIFF Super Cup, which kicks off on October 25, 2025.
Sporting Club Delhi takes Hyderabad FC’s place in the Super Cup, with fixtures already updated to reflect the new identity. The move restores Delhi’s representation in the Indian Super League (ISL) for the first time since 2019, when Delhi Dynamos FC relocated and became Odisha FC, leaving the capital without a top-tier football presence.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhavesh Jindal, Promoter, BC Jindal Group, said, “The unveiling of Sporting Club Delhi marks the beginning of a new chapter for football in the Delhi NCR region and India. The club will represent inclusivity, ambition, and the city’s spirit and enthusiasm for the sport. The club’s logo, featuring a phoenix rising from flames, symbolizes the revival of football in Delhi. Owned by Jindal Football Private Limited, a subsidiary of the BC Jindal Group, Sporting Club Delhi aims to become a leading football institution in the region, emphasizing youth development, local engagement, and competitive excellence.
With its Super Cup debut, Sporting Club Delhi is expected to draw significant interest from fans and media, offering a platform for young Indian talent to shine on a national stage.
