In the South Africa (SA) tour of India 2022 third T20I, India beat South Africa by 48 runs at the Dr Y.S.R. ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Temba Bavuma won the toss and asked India to bat first. It started well for the Indian openers as both, Ishan Kishan (54) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (57) scored a half-century. The duo added 97 runs for the first wicket partnership which ensured that India reached a marvellous total at the end of the inning. Along with them, Hardik Pandya (31*) also hammered a quick-fire knock which helped India to reach 179/5 in 20 overs.
In the chase, Reeza Hendricks (23) and Dwaine Pretorius (20) were the only batters who gave some hope to SA fans. Heinrich Klassen (29) also scored some runs but couldn’t take the team beyond the winning score. Wayne Parnell (22) in the end tried his best but it wasn’t enough.
Harshal Patel was the star in the second innings as he scalped four wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal also got three wickets. Axar Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also managed to get one wicket each.
Dwaine Pretorius picked up two wickets in his quota of four overs. Along with him, Tabraiz Shamsi, Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj got one wicket each.
Yuzvendra Chahal was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance. With this win, India have made a comeback in the series.
