Sony Sports receive massive sponsorship deals ahead of India-England series

The much-awaited series has met with a massive response from advertisers across multiple sectors.

The highly anticipated India tour of England commences on Wednesday at Trent Bridge in Nottingham at 3:30 PM IST. India will be seen in whites for the first time since the World Test Championship final loss against New Zealand while England will be also playing its first Test match since the two-match Test series against the Kiwis in June. The much-awaited series has met with a massive response from advertisers across multiple sectors.

According to the reports, the LIVE broadcast and live streaming partner Sony Sports Network has signed more than 15 sponsorship deals for the series.

The major sponsors for the upcoming series include Cars 24, MRF Tyres, Fogg, Mahindra & Mahindra, Byju’s, Pan Bahaar and PharmEasy. Several other advertisers include Apollo Pharmacy, Castrol, Accenture, Netmed, Housing.com, Apple, Tata Motors, Wolf 777 news, 1MG.com, Perfetti, Policy Bazaar, Dafa News, Paisa Bazaar and TVS Tyres. Apart from this, Kent RO has backed the sponsorship of SPSN’s LIVE studio show, Extra Innings.

Chief Revenue Officer, Distribution and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, Rajesh Kaul, said, “Cricket has always been more than just a sport for fans in India and Sony Sports aims on giving our viewers the best of international cricket. All eyes will be on this highly anticipated test series as Team India will look to advance further from their last tour to England. The official broadcasters of the five-match Test series, Sony Sports has planned to get on board five former captains for live commentary. The series will start airing from August 4, 2021, on SONY SIX in English, SONY TEN in Hindi and the new channel SONY TEN 4 in Telugu and Tamil from 2:30 PM IST and will also live stream on its OTT platform SonyLIV.

To enhance the viewers’ experience, in the Extra Innings segment, the panel of former cricketers like Shaun Pollack, Sunil Gavaskar, Alastair Cook among others will share their insights and analysis on the game.
