Sony Sports gets six sponsors onboard for The Ashes 2021

Sony has been able to rope in quite a number of advertisers for The Ashes series.

The Sony Sports Network has onboarded several sponsors for the upcoming fierce Test series between Australia and England, widely known as The Ashes

The Indian cricket fans could enjoy the matches on the Sony Sports Network, in four different languages that include, Tamil, Telegu, English, and Hindi. Apart from that, they can also follow the game LIVE on the OTT platform, Sony Liv.

As we already know that the Ashes is widely popular in India following which Sony has been able to rope in quite a several advertisers for the series. In the list, there is BYJU’s, which is one of the largest growing online educational platforms. Adding to it there is the Indian insurance aggregator, Policy Bazaar. Moving on, Siggnature Elachi has also marked its name in the sponsors list.

Apart from these three, Bosch Appliances will be advertising and promoting their home and kitchen appliances during the Ashes broadcasting. Layer’r shot, which engages itself in making a wide range of body sprays for men has also booked a slot with Sony Sports Network during the Ashes. Lastly, there is DafaNews which has been able to leave its mark following various ISL team sponsorships, now has shifted to LIVE advertising during the Ashes for better engagement in their sports news website.

Currently, these are the ones who have made to the list of advertisers during the broadcasting of the Ashes on the Sony Sports Network. However, the broadcasting company is hopeful to add some more names to that list during the coming days.

Sandeep Mehrotra, Head – Ad Sales, Network Channels, SPNI, said: “An Ashes series is truly revered by the cricket fans in India and as such has become an extremely important part of the advertiser’s media plans. Like every edition, even this year we have seen tremendous advertiser interest across categories like edtech, e-commerce, consumer durables and others. We have already surpassed the revenue we generated in the last Ashes and are hopeful that this is another blockbuster series for our advertisers.” 

The Ashes will be starting from December 8 and continue until January 18, with the series concluding after five Test matches. The first Test will be played at The Gabba from December 8-12, second at Adelaide Oval from December 16-20, third at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26-30, followed by the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 5-9, and the last Test will be played at the WACA Ground from January 14-18.
