Sony Sports Network is set to deliver its most expansive coverage of an India tour of England to date after unveiling a five-language broadcast strategy for the upcoming white-ball series, while revealing that the marquee bilateral contest continues to command a significant commercial premium among advertisers.

The eight-match tour, comprising five T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals between July 1 and July 19, will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and, for the first time, Kannada. The addition of a dedicated Kannada feed underlines Sony’s continued investment in regional-language broadcasting as it looks to deepen audience engagement and broaden its reach across India’s diverse cricket market.

Alongside the multilingual presentation, Sony Sports is bringing back its flagship cricket studio show, Extraaa Innings, featuring an accomplished panel of former internationals, analysts and presenters across all language feeds. The line-up includes Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Graeme Swann, Ajay Jadeja, Shardul Thakur and Ambati Rayudu, among others, providing comprehensive coverage and analysis throughout the tour.

Akshay Agrawal, Head of Linear Ad Sales at Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “The advertiser response has been extremely strong, which reflects the significance of this property. India versus England remains one of the most compelling rivalries in international cricket, with two high-quality teams producing consistently competitive contests.

“From a commercial standpoint, India-England commands a 35-40% premium over most other India bilateral tours for a similar number of matches. That reflects the scale of audience interest and the strength of the rivalry as a sporting and media property.”

The broadcaster expects the upcoming white-ball series to surpass the audience recorded during India’s 2025 Test tour of England, which attracted approximately 105 million viewers. The combination of limited-overs cricket, expanded regional-language accessibility and premium studio programming is expected to further strengthen viewership and advertiser engagement.

On the field, India head into the tour with a blend of established stars and emerging talent. Shreyas Iyer will captain the T20I side with Tilak Varma serving as vice-captain. The ODI squad sees the return of Virat Kohli following his recovery from a hamstring injury, reuniting with Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

With an expanded multilingual offering, a star-studded presentation team and a robust commercial portfolio, Sony Sports is positioning the India-England white-ball tour as one of its flagship cricket properties of 2026, highlighting the growing influence of regional broadcasting and premium bilateral cricket in India’s evolving sports media landscape.
