Sony Pictures Sports Network to telecast Indian women’s historic maiden one-off pink-ball Test

It will be the first time that the Indian women’s team will play a day-night pink-ball Test.

Sony Pictures Sports Network has announced that the network will be broadcasting the historic one-off pink ball Day-Night Test Match. The three T20I matches followed by the Test match will allow fans to cheer for the #SuperWomenInBlue during their ongoing high-octane series against Australia.

Viewers will be able to watch the matches live in four languages – SONY SIX channel in English, SONY TEN 3 channel in Hindi, and SONY TEN 4 channel in Tamil & Telugu from September 30, 2021. It will also be live-streamed on the network’s on-demand OTT platform Sony LIV.

The series between the two has raised a lot of interest amongst the viewers as it will be the first time that the Indian women’s team will play a day-night pink-ball Test.

Commenting on the announcement, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer, Distribution and Head – Sports Business at Sony Pictures Networks India said, “2021 has been a year of outstanding achievements for Indian athletes and we have witnessed Indian women raising the bar at the global stage on multiple occasions. All eyes will now be on the Indian women’s cricket team as they prepare to play their first-ever historic pink ball Day-Night Test against Australia in their backyard.” 

“As the official broadcaster, we are delighted to announce the language feeds for the series as we aim to reach a wider audience and provide unparalleled viewing experience as the entire nation gears to support the Women in Blue at this historic tour.”

The new campaign #SuperWomenInBlue has been launched by the network to support the Indian women’s cricket team. The campaign aims to call out every Indian cricket fan to support the Indian women’s cricket team and cheer for them as they prepare to conquer the series.

Star Sports aims to bring a wider reach and will also be bringing their studio show ‘Extra Innings’ along with the telecast of the matches that will be featuring some former cricketers like Saba Karim, WV Raman, etc.
