The Croatian professional footballer, Luka Modric has been announced as the brand ambassador of the Croatia-based sports data company, SofaScore.
This new deal will see the Real Madrid player collaborate with the company ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup. The midfielder met with the brand’s founders, Zlatko Hrka and Ivan Beli, to finalise the contract.
The football scores and live score provider has focused particularly on the common national identity and legacy of the Croatian national team player. Modric represented his country during the 2018 World Cup, where they finished as runner-up.
SofaScore wishes to massively increase its portfolio and exposure ahead of the World Cup in Qatar by collaborating with the Ballon d’Or and four-time Champions League winner, Modric.
The company plans to market itself as a specific product that links fans, sports enthusiasts, and athletes.
SofaScore has established a significant place among many sports fans, with a global monthly user base of 22 million. In addition, it is the highest-rated among apps in the score updates category on both the App Store and Google Play.
SofaScore’s Head of Sales Daniel Jurilj outlined the app’s ‘secret sauce,’ citing the company’s ability to transform information into meaningful valuable insights that aid users to instantaneously figure out what’s going on in the match.
With the World Cup being one of the betting sector’s biggest events and only six months away from it, Jurilj also explained how a seamless mobile experience is useful for corporates associated with sports business, even if they are live score providers, betting firms, or others, to find success in the extremely competitive terrain.
