The Indian helmet manufacturer, SMK Helmets, has entered the international motorsport ecosystem after being named the technical helmet sponsor of the Moto4 Latin Cup, marking the brand’s first association with a championship linked to the Road to MotoGP.
The partnership positions SMK within the global talent development structure connected to MotoGP, where junior championships are designed to identify and develop young riders before they progress to higher tiers of professional motorcycle racing.
As part of the agreement, all riders competing in the Moto4 Latin Cup will race wearing SMK’s Titan Carbon helmets throughout the 2026 season, giving the Indian manufacturer a consistent presence on the championship grid.
The Moto4 Latin Cup functions as a development platform for emerging riders from across Latin America. The 2026 calendar will feature 12 race rounds staged across circuits in Brazil and Argentina, with the season scheduled to begin in Goiânia, Brazil, from March 20 to 22.
The championship operates on a single-make format using Honda NSF250R race motorcycles, ensuring competitive parity across the field and placing the emphasis squarely on rider skill and development rather than machinery advantages.
Commenting on the partnership, Sidhartha Khurana, Managing Director & CEO at SMK, said, “For SMK, supporting the Moto4 Latin Cup is more than a sponsorship. It reflects our long-term commitment to rider safety and innovation. As one of the world’s largest helmet manufacturers by volume, with over five decades of expertise, we believe racing plays an important role in advancing helmet technology.
“These young athletes represent the future of our sport, and we are proud to stand beside them as they pursue their dreams. The insights gained through racing environments will continue to strengthen the technology that ultimately protects riders on roads across the world.”
Under the partnership, competitors will be equipped with the SMK Titan Carbon racing helmet, a lightweight carbon-fibre model engineered for track use and certified under the ECE 22.06 safety standard, the latest European regulation governing motorcycle helmet safety.
For SMK, the collaboration represents a strategic entry into professional racing environments, providing opportunities to test product performance under high-speed competitive conditions while strengthening the brand’s international visibility within motorsport.
Manufactured in India and exported globally, SMK helmets have built a presence across several international markets. Participation in a championship linked to the MotoGP development ladder reflects the company’s broader ambition to establish itself as a performance-oriented global helmet brand.
The partnership also underscores the growing role of Indian manufacturers within the global motorsport equipment ecosystem, as companies increasingly leverage racing platforms to validate technology, enhance product credibility and expand international brand recognition.
