Sky Italia serves up Wimbledon through 2030

Sky Italia, the leading entertainment and sports broadcaster in Italy, has announced a significant extension of its exclusive rights to The Championships, Wimbledon.

This landmark deal ensures comprehensive coverage of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament will remain a cornerstone of Sky Sports channels and the NOW streaming service until 2030.

This new agreement adds an additional four years to Sky Italia’s current exclusive deal, which was set to conclude after the 2026 tournament. The extension highlights Sky Italia’s unwavering commitment to delivering top-tier sports content, especially as tennis enjoys an unprecedented surge in popularity across Italy. This growth is largely fueled by the remarkable achievements of national heroes like Jannik Sinner, Jasmine Paolini, Lorenzo Musetti and Matteo Berrettini, who have captivated audiences and inspired a new generation of fans.

Marzio Perrelli, Executive Vice President of Sport at Sky Italia, emphasized the significance of the deal and said, “Wimbledon is not just a tennis tournament, it is a temple and a legend of world sport. This is why we are proud to announce an agreement that will allow us to tell our subscribers about the next 6 editions of a unique event, with the quality of the storytelling, the passion and the technology of Sky. An agreement that demonstrates once again the centrality of tennis in the House of Sport”. 

Paul Davies, Associate Director of Broadcast, Production & Media Rights at the All England Club, added, “Tennis in Italy has never reached such a high level and, thanks to Sky’s commitment to the sport and its comprehensive and innovative coverage, we are delighted to extend our partnership until the end of the decade.”

The extended partnership was facilitated by IMG, the renowned international sports and entertainment agency responsible for managing the global media rights for the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC).

This long-term commitment solidifies Wimbledon’s place in Italian homes, promising years of unparalleled tennis action and expert analysis for passionate viewers. The 2025 Wimbledon Championships are scheduled to commence on June 30.
