Hot on the heels of securing their record sixth consecutive Barclays Women’s Super League title, Chelsea FC Women have unveiled a significant multi-year extension and enhancement of their partnership with automotive manufacturer Škoda UK.
In a historic first for the club, the new agreement sees Škoda become Chelsea FC Women’s official back-of-shirt partner.
The Škoda logo is set to make its debut on the reverse of the team’s match kits this Saturday, as the newly crowned champions lift the WSL trophy in their final game of the 2024/25 season in front of a home crowd at Stamford Bridge. The branding will then feature prominently throughout the 2025/26 season and into future campaigns, signifying a new era in the club’s commercial strategy.
This deepened collaboration builds upon an already successful foundation, with Škoda having served as the club’s official automotive partner since January 2024. The expanded partnership encompasses several key initiatives designed to boost visibility and engagement. Beyond the prominent back-of-shirt branding, Škoda’s presence will be amplified on matchdays at both Stamford Bridge and Kingsmeadow through dedicated signage and advertising. Continuing a unique matchday tradition, a Škoda vehicle will still lead the team bus upon its arrival at Stamford Bridge.
A shared commitment to sustainability is underscored as Chelsea FC Women players, staff, and the Women’s Academy will maintain access to Škoda’s acclaimed all-electric Enyaq range and the Kodiaq iV plug-in hybrid models. Furthermore, Škoda UK will remain the title sponsor of the popular official club podcast, “We Are Chelsea,” and fans can anticipate a wealth of exclusive player-focused content distributed across both Chelsea FC Women’s and Škoda UK’s official social media channels. Reinforcing the partnership’s depth, five key Chelsea FC Women players – Niamh Charles, Aggie Beever-Jones, Ashley Lawrence, Zećira Mušović, and Mayra Ramírez – have been appointed official brand ambassadors for Škoda UK; they will actively feature in various digital campaigns, community initiatives, and staff engagement programs.
Commenting on the occasion, Giulia Mazzia, Commercial Director for Chelsea FC Women, said, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Škoda UK, a brand that has valued and championed women’s sports for years. To welcome them as our first Official Back of Shirt Partner illustrates our collective ambition to innovate and establish new ways to bring partners into the fabric of how we support the business function of the club.
“The team at Škoda UK are committed to helping us connect with our hugely passionate community, both on matchdays at Kingsmeadow and Stamford Bridge, but also beyond those moments when digital content offers such value and connection for the wider Chelsea family around the world. We’re excited to continue achieving great things together.”
Kirsten Stagg, Head of Marketing at Škoda UK, added, “We’re proud to partner with the exceptional Chelsea Women’s team and look forward to seeing the Škoda logo displayed proudly on the back of the players’ shirts.
“It’s a privilege to partner with an organisation that shares our ambition to deliver best-in-class results in everything they do. Chelsea Women exemplify many of the core values we hold at Škoda, and we’re excited to continue championing the team while supporting the growth of the sport.”
The announcement celebrates Chelsea Women’s remarkable achievement of an eighth WSL title overall. Following this weekend’s trophy lift, the Škoda-branded shirts will also be worn as Chelsea FC Women compete in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, May 18, 2025, where they will be striving for further domestic success.
This strengthened alliance is set to further elevate the global profiles of both Chelsea FC Women, a dominant force in women’s football, and Škoda UK, as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
