Bank of America has added significant star power to its expanding sports portfolio, signing a multi-year agreement with Sir David Beckham and appointing the former England captain as a global ambassador for its Sports with Us platform.
The partnership signals the bank’s intent to scale its impact-driven sports strategy across major markets while using Beckham’s global influence to deepen community engagement.
Sports with Us is Bank of America’s long-term initiative designed to use sport as a tool for youth development and social mobility. As part of the program, the bank will roll out nationwide sports clinics that unite professional athletes, public figures, and Bank of America employees to mentor young participants. The bank expects these clinics to reach hundreds of thousands of children across the United States over the next decade.
Beckham will work closely with Authentic Brands Group, which co-owns and manages his global brand. Authentic’s live events division will play a key role in supporting Bank of America’s local activation strategy, helping deliver sports-led community programming across major U.S. cities.
Commenting on the partnership, Sir David Beckham said, “Sport has the power to bring people together and to create a lasting impact on young people and communities all over the world. I’ve seen firsthand how programmes such as Sports with Us make real change and allow access and opportunities that are vital in our communities. I applaud Brian Moynihan and his team’s long-term plans to use sports as a vehicle for change. I’m inspired by their efforts, which have made me reflect on my own experiences both in sport and through my work with organisations like UNICEF. I am proud to partner with Bank of America to extend this work and use my platform to shine a light on their incredible and impactful Sports with Us programming.”
David Tyrie, President, Marketing, Digital and Specialised Consumer Client Solutions, added, “Sir David’s work to support communities around the world and his passion for helping others excel, achieve and participate in sports are second to none. He shares our drive to connect and empower people through sport. “With Sir David’s help, we’ll accelerate change and invest where it matters most.
The agreement extends Bank of America’s already substantial sports footprint. The bank is an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and is an official bank partner of the U.S. Soccer Federation. Its endurance sports presence includes title partnerships with the Boston Marathon and Chicago Marathon, two events that generated more than 1.1 billion dollars in economic impact in recent editions. Through these marathons alone, Bank of America has facilitated more than 90 million dollars in charitable contributions.
Golf remains another strategic pillar. The bank is a champion partner of The Masters Tournament and supports marquee amateur events such as the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the Latin America Amateur Championship, and the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship. Its Golf with Us program aims to introduce millions of young people to the sport over the next five years.
Bank of America’s tie-up with Beckham reinforces a clear direction: major global athletes and community-focused programming will sit at the heart of the bank’s future sports investments, positioning the institution as more than a sponsor but a long-term contributor to sport-led social change.
