The EFL Championship club, Sheffield United FC have announced a partnership with the Solana-based meme token, Maneki.

Following this deal, the brand has been named principal partner of the unit for the 2024-25 season.

Furthermore, the Maneki-neko insignia was incorporated on the front of the Blades’ equally renowned red and white stripes for the first time against Leeds United FC, yesterday, October 19. The match ended with the home team winning over the United by 2-0.

Maneki has chosen to colour match its logo across all jerseys, and supporters can decide whether or not to have the logo applied to their jersey purchases. Any fan who already bought a Blades shirt this season and want to have the sponsor logo applied should return to the Blades Superstore, where the club is giving this print for free.

Maneki is a cryptocurrency based on the Solana blockchain that was inspired by the classic Japanese emblem of good fortune, the Maneki-neko. The coin is based on community and luck and is intended to generate value through gamified interaction and incentives.

Collaborating with Maneki, the club hopes to create one-of-a-kind digital and in-stadium experiences.
