Sevilla FC looking to collaborate with Indian club

After a successful 2019/20 campaign, Sevilla FC is focusing on getting a strong reach in India. The Spanish club is set to partner with an Indian club for a long-term project.

Sevilla has won one La Liga and five Copa del Reys. They are famously known as the Europa League machine for winning the trophy six times in this century. The latest Europa League win came against Inter Milan in August.

Sevilla had previously failed with a similar attempt to execute a similar deal in India. However, the Spanish club is now determined to announce a partnership with an Indian club by December. Sevilla is looking forward to developing technological projects in India and also plans to play friendly games in the South Asian country.

Jose Maria Cruz, CEO of Sevilla FC, said, “We have always been a small club with limited resources, but now we want to start growing internationally. We want to define who we are, and India is the main objective for us. Previously, we had our focus on the likes of USA, Mexico, Japan, China, and a few African countries, but India and its market demand most of our efforts and resources for at least the next three years.”

Apart from the impending collaboration, Sevilla has also aligned themselves with Real Betis and Celta Vigo to contribute more to the La Liga India Football Schools.
