Saran Media Group signs multi-year deals with PL and FA Cup

The FA Cup contract is a new arrangement that runs until 2027–28, spanning the majority of the same 11 markets as the EPL deal.

The Turkish media firm, Saran Media Group has acquired two multi-year media rights deals for the Premier League (PL) and FA Cup knockout games in Eastern European and Central Asian areas.

The PL agreement, which includes Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, is an extension that will last until 2027–28. Saran first secured the rights in these regions in August 2021. Saran obtains exclusive rights to live, delayed, highlights, and snippets in various areas, as well as TV, online, and mobile platforms.

The FA Cup contract, on the other hand, is a new arrangement that runs from 2024-25 to 2027-28 spanning the majority of the same 11 markets as the EPL deal (except Belarus, which is replaced by Ukraine), as well as the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The latter agreement was reached with The Football Association (FA).

A variety of broadcasters aired last season’s FA Cup in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Setanta Sports had the rights in Ukraine, whereas TV Nova did the same in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Recently, Saran Media also announced a five-year media rights management agreement with the LFP. Saran will obtain the media rights to Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Trophee des Champions in 18 Central Asian and Eastern European regions.
