San Antonio Spurs announce Self Financial as official jersey patch sponsor

The Self Financial insignia shall appear on Spurs team shirts replacing Frost.

The Austin-based financial information company, Self Financial and San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA) have officially announced a major multi-year jersey patch collaboration.

During the 2022–23 season, the Self Financial insignia shall appear on Spurs team shirts in place of Frost, which served as the team’s first jersey patch partner in 2018. Self Financial would also be promoted on the Spurs’ radio and television transmissions, and at the team’s AT&T Center stadium.

Additionally, Austin Spurs practise jerseys, warm-up shooting jerseys, and jerseys in the NBA G League would also have the fintech branding. For Self Financial’s first collaboration with a major sports club, no financial information has been disclosed, although the Spurs will receive ownership of the organization.

Additionally, as part of the agreement, Self and Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) would introduce the annual “Building Dreams Award,” which will give a non-profit group leader $10,000 and introduce a “Building Dreams” video series.

RC Buford, Chief Executive of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, “Self builds credit, the Spurs build talent and both build dreams.

“Our partnership will draw parallels between people looking to build credit and a talented young group on the basketball court committed to building a championship team. We believe the Self-branded Spurs jersey will become a symbol of this mission – self-improvement in pursuit of building dreams.”

Self Financial’s Founder and CEO, James Garvey, said, “The Spurs have a reputation for being one of the most hardworking and community-focused teams in the NBA.

“We are humbled to have our logo on the Spurs jersey to represent our customers and everyone who is taking the steps to build their dreams.”
