The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s innovative tennis-ball T10 cricket league, today announced a significant expansion for its upcoming Season 3 with Bollywood icon Salman Khan officially joining as the owner of the New Delhi franchise.
This high-profile acquisition further strengthens the ISPL’s growing lineup of celebrity team owners and promises to bring even more excitement and star power to the league.
Salman Khan’s entry follows a tremendously successful Season 2 for the ISPL, which captured the attention of over 28 million television viewers and saw an impressive 47% surge in TV viewership compared to its inaugural season. The league has quickly cemented its reputation as a unique fusion of exhilarating cricket and lively entertainment, earning it the moniker, “India’s largest sports and music carnival.”
Sachin Tendulkar, Core Committee Member, ISPL, expressed his enthusiasm and said, “The last two seasons of the ISPL received great support and love from fans and well-wishers from across the country. Salman Khan now joins the ISPL’s illustrious roster of celebrity team owners. This includes Amitabh Bachchan (Majhi Mumbai), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Tiigers of Kolkata), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar Ke Veer), Suriya (Chennai Singams), Hrithik Roshan (Bangalore Strikers), and Ram Charan (Falcon Risers Hyderabad).
