SailGP, one of the world’s fastest-growing sports assets, has developed a multi-year partnership renewal with the global energy solutions firm, Aggreko.
For the next three seasons, Aggreko will continue to remain SailGP’s temporary power supplier. In 2021, the two parties first collaborated, which GlobalData Sport said was worth a total of $1.5 million. Till now, the two sides had collaborated to proactively maximise fuel efficiencies onsite, involving green grid distribution and the use of alternative fuels.
All three of the current 2025 season’s events—in Sydney, Auckland, and Dubai—have so far been entirely powered by clean energy on-shore.
The announcement of the collaboration extension comes ahead of the Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix, which takes place on March 15 and 16.
Julien Di Biase, Chief Operating Officer at SailGP, said, “Having a major events group like Aggreko support driving change has been invaluable—from installing the largest temporary solar array at a sporting event in Dubai on our behalf, to helping us find clean energy solutions for events worldwide. This renewed partnership provides us with the opportunity to drive greater impact and work together to continue to pioneer within the sporting industry and beyond.”
Regarding other recent SailGP commercial activities, the competition announced in late January that telecom major Ericsson will be its worldwide technology supplier for the 2025 season.
Moreover, Ericsson Enterprise Wireless has signed a deal to provide 5G connections to SailGP teams and people, which the series believes would improve spectator experiences and race operations.
SailGP’s other major sponsors comprise Rolex, Oracle, Emirates and more.

On the other hand, the global leader in temporary power solutions also has partnered with Formula 1 and Formula E.
