Robin Singh from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has joined RoundGlass Punjab Football Club (RGPFC) for a one-year deal. Singh started playing football at the age of nine, currently, he is a professional and skilled footballer with experience of more than eight years. He made his senior team debut with East Bengal in 2010.
The football player has now represented the national team and played in the I-League as well as the ISL (Indian super league) for clubs like Hyderabad FC, Real Kashmir, FC Pune City, FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, ATK, East Bengal, Delhi Dynamos, and many more. He also won the titles with ATK and Bengaluru Football Club.
Punjab FC announced his arrival ahead of the 2021/22 season of the I-league. The 31-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the club. Robin said, “Being a Punjabi, I’m very excited to join RoundGlass Punjab FC. My grandfather, Ajit Singh, from Sarabha, Ludhiana, was a footballer and one of the organisers of the Durand Cup.”
Welcoming Robin Singh in RGPFC, First team head Coach Ashley said, “Robin is a player I know very well from my time at Bengaluru FC, and I am well aware of his capabilities. Previously, under my guidance, we have seen Robin lead the attack for the national team and hopefully we can get him back there again. He has a good character and gives us a good option upfront. I’m confident we will empower him to deliver his best.“
Football Director of RGPFC, Nikolaos Topoliatis, said, “We picked Robin for the experience and leadership he brings to the side, having played extensively in the I-League and the ISL as well as the national team.”
