Rohit Sharma and women cricketers urge fans to become ‘Poora Fan’ in new Dream11 campaign

The Poora Fan Bano campaign features comical encounters between fans and players of the Women's Cricket Team, along with Rohit Sharma.

Dream11, the country’s leading fantasy gaming platform, has unveiled a new advertising campaign, ‘Poora Fan Bano’, ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The commercial urges cricket fans to support the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, emphasising that genuine cricket fans support any version of the game, regardless of who is playing.

In a series of advertisements, Rohit Sharma, the Indian men’s cricket team captain, appears with Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s cricket team captain, and top batters Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues.

The advertisements stress how Aadha (half) supporters only care about men’s cricket, but genuine blue cricket (Poora) fans also support the women’s squad. The fans in the commercial are played by digital content producers Aakash Gupta, Ravi Gupta, and RJ Kisna, while Rohit Sharma urges viewers to root for the Indian women’s side in the forthcoming T20 World Cup.

The Poora Fan Bano campaign features comical encounters between fans and players of the Women’s Cricket Team, along with Rohit Sharma. The segments take place in a variety of settings, and Rohit Sharma uses light-hearted situational humour to remind viewers that the Women’s World Cup is approaching, and that as real fans of the sport, they should support the Women’s Cricket Team.

Dream11 has a long history with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and has been the lead sponsor of Team India’s Women’s and Men’s National Cricket Teams since 2023.
