RMC Sports clinches French broadcasting rights of the Europa League

The deal of the broadcasting rights that ran through till 2024 were originally owned by Mediapro but the right were returned to UEFA after the broadcasting company halted its services

The UEFA Europa League and the Europa conference league’s French broadcasting rights have been reportedly given to RMC Sports which is a French television broadcaster. In a deal reported to be worth over $415 million per season.

Europa League broadcasting rights that ran through till 2024 were originally owned by Mediapro but the right were returned to UEFA after the broadcasting company halted its services, and that is when RMC Sports came into the picture and landed the deal with UEFA.

The free to air broadcaster M6 also acquired some rights and they will be able to stream 16 matches per season and the finals of both competitions. Reports also say that RMC Sports are also looking for rights to broadcast any two best champions league games from one match week.

Along with this Canal Plus co-owns the rights of streaming the premier league in France along with RMC Sports in a deal worth over $106.7 million 2019-2022. The top tier of the English league streams on these platforms, with both Marseille and Lyon participating in the Europa League, this is bound to attract traffic on the streaming platforms from the French fans.

With over ten RMC channels and commentary by RMC experts, following minute details of every match the streaming service will be available on both Android and the IOS and television, this will surely attract many avid French football fans looking to support their teams through the new season of the Europa League and the Europa conference league as well.
