Riyadh Season, a flagship annual Saudi entertainment and tourist event, has established a strategic cooperation between LALIGA and Thmanyah, the official Saudi football broadcaster, in an endeavour to improve the Saudi Pro League‘s (SPL) audiovisual production standards.

The arrangement was executed in London by Faisal Bafarat, CEO of the General Entertainment Authority, on behalf of Riyadh Season; Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA; and Abdulrahman Abumalih, Founder and CEO of Thmanyah, a Saudi Research and Media Group subsidiary. Jomana Al-Rashed, the CEO of SRMG, attended the signing event.

According to the agreement, LALIGA will give technical consulting to improve production quality throughout SPL broadcasts. Improved camera location, signal design, and audio systems, as well as improved stadium lighting distribution, are key areas of attention. The cooperation will also create a technical production guidebook and use new broadcast techniques.

Another important aspect of the collaboration is training programs meant to upskill local manufacturing teams and ensure the long-term transfer of expertise. LALIGA will also collaborate closely with Saudi stakeholders to develop a strong anti-piracy strategy to safeguard premium sports and entertainment assets throughout the Kingdom.

Turki Alalshikh, CEO of the GEA and Riyadh Season, highlighted the move as a continuation of the company’s commitment to expanding its global presence. He emphasised that last year’s sponsorship of LALIGA was a watershed moment in that journey, with the current agreement amplifying the season’s effect across sports and entertainment.

Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, said, “We are pleased to join forces with Riyadh Season and Thmanyah to enhance the audiovisual production standards of the Saudi Pro League. We already have a strong working relationship, and we look forward to building on that to deliver world-class broadcast experiences. At LALIGA we are committed to sharing our knowledge and expertise to support football’s global growth, and this initiative is an important step forward for Saudi football’s international visibility.”
