UK-based sportswear brand Umbro has signed a deal with the Republic of Ireland FA to become the kit sponsor of the national team. Umbro takes over from New Balance as the kit supplier of Ireland.
As part of the new deal, Umbro Ireland is introducing a women’s range for the national kit, including bespoke home and away jerseys. This deal is set to kick in all age groups from November. The jersey will debut during Ireland’s game against England at Wembley next month.
The kit will be supplied by Umbro’s Irish licensee JACC Sports Distributors led by Johnathan Courtenay.
Managing director of JACC Sports Distributors, Jonathan Courtenay, said, “We are delighted to bring the world-famous Umbro double diamond logo back to the Irish national team shirts, especially as Umbro and the FAI have such a storied history in both the 1960s and then again between 1994 and 2017.”
Republic of Ireland footballer Aine O’Gorman said, “We are also excited to be introducing bespoke women’s kits for the first time, and we wish Vera Pauw’s team all the best in their upcoming European Championship fixture against Germany. All of the new kits for both men and women can be purchased from faishop.com and Intersport Elverys from 5 November.”
