Reconomy renews partnership with Wolves to champion sustainability and community engagement

This extended collaboration marks over a decade of successful partnership, highlighting Reconomy and Wolves' dedication to creating a positive environmental and social impact.

The leading circular economy specialist, Reconomy has extended its partnership with the Premier League (PL) club, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, and the Wolves Foundation for another season.

This extended collaboration marks over a decade of successful partnership, highlighting both organizations’ unwavering dedication to creating a positive environmental and social impact.

Reconomy’s partnership with Wolverhampton Wanderers extends beyond brand association. Since becoming the club’s official sustainability partner in 2021, Reconomy has been crucial in implementing effective resource management and waste minimization strategies at Molineux Stadium, Compton Park training ground, and the Wolves Foundation site. These initiatives have demonstrably reduced the club’s environmental footprint, setting a strong example for other sports organizations.

Commenting on the extension, Kieron Ansell, Business Development Manager with Wolves Foundation, said, “We are thrilled that Reconomy has extended its partnership with the club and the Foundation.

“Reconomy is a loyal partner and a great supporter of our work to motivate, educate and inspire people in the Wolverhampton area. We are excited to continue working with such an innovative, ambitious local company as we explore more ways to help the local community and minimise our impact on the environment.”

Paul Cox, Founder Director of Reconomy, added, “We are delighted to deepen our involvement with Wolves – a vital force for good across our local communities. The club’s dedication to embedding sustainability at the heart of their activities is commendable and we have been so impressed by the amazing local projects and services the Foundation delivers.

“At Reconomy, our mission is to enable a circular economy, to create a more sustainable world and deliver positive social impacts. Renewing our patronage with an organisation that shares our values was an obvious decision for us. It is a privilege to continue working so closely with their team of such highly skilled, dedicated leadership, staff and volunteers.”

The partnership extends far beyond the environmental sphere. Reconomy remains a sponsor of the Wolves Women’s team, demonstrating its commitment to promoting gender equality in sports. Additionally, Reconomy actively supports the Wolves Foundation’s vital work in the Wolverhampton area. A powerful example of this collaboration is the creation of a girls’ football kit made from recycled plastics, a project that embodies the partnership’s dedication to social responsibility.

This renewed partnership between Reconomy and Wolverhampton Wanderers is a powerful example of how organizations can collaborate to create a positive impact. By prioritizing sustainability and community engagement, this collaboration sets a new standard for responsible business practices within the sports industry.

Reconomy is a global leader in driving the circular economy. With a focus on waste reduction, supply chain optimization, and environmental stewardship, the company provides innovative solutions to help businesses transition to a more sustainable future. By combining cutting-edge technology with deep industry expertise, Reconomy transforms waste into valuable resources.

This partnership with Wolves is the latest in a series of club partners including LAKE, Neo, SUDUJD SportsLevy UK + Ireland, DEBET, and BetMGM UK.

On the pitch, Wolverhampton Wanderers are gearing up for the 2024-25 season after finishing 14th in the previous campaign. The Old Gold’s journey begins on August 17 with a challenging match against Arsenal.
