Real Sociedad announces Finetwork as new shirt sponsor

Finetwork lands its second shirt sponsorship for a La Liga team.

The Spanish top-flight team Real Sociedad has announced telecommunications operator Finetwork as their new main shirt sponsor for the 2021/22 season. Real Sociedad didn’t have an official shirt sponsor after the deal with Iqoniq expired at the end of the 2020/21 season.

With this agreement, the telecommunications network Finetwork will be Real Sociedad’s main shirt sponsor for one year, until the end of this season. The deal will see Basque club comply with the new sponsorship laws laid down by the La Liga at the start of the season.

However, the financial terms of the partnership have not been disclosed yet, but according to reports, it is believed the sponsorship package could be approximately €1.5 million (US$ 1.7 million) per year. As a result of this deal, Finetwork has acquired sponsorship for two La Liga teams, the other being Real Betis. The telecommunications company also has a partnership with the Spanish Football Federation.

“This agreement is an important bet for Finetwork, for sport and for a historical club in Spanish football like la Real Sociedad. We both believe that by doing things differently and with a lot of effort, you will be able to reach the top and compete with the greatest,” said Manuel Hernandez, Chief Executive of Finetwork.

Acknowledging the partnership with their new sponsors, Jokin Apperribay, Real Sociedad’s president added: “La Real Sociedad will proudly wear this new shirt both in La Liga and in Europe as our agreement with Finetwork remains attentive to the same attitudes and values. In this way, the effort, perseverance and teamwork of both entities meet to achieve maximum success together.”

The Basque club is third in the La Liga table after eight match-days. Making them the joint league leaders alongside Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid with 17 points each. Real Sociedad will next face Mallorca at home after the domestic football resumes with the conclusion of the international break.
