Real Madrid C.F., the globally renowned Spanish football club, saw earnings exceed €1 billion ($1.16 billion) in the 2024-25 season, breaking the threshold for the second consecutive season.
The Spanish club earned €1.18 billion in total, excluding player transfer costs, during a trophy-less season for the men’s squad. This statistic marks a 10% rise over the previous year, with the corresponding figure for 2023-24 being €1.07 billion (the first time the billion-euro barrier was broken).
Last season’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) was €243 million. Madrid’s post-tax profit for past season was €24.3 million.
In terms of revenue sectors, Madrid stated that “all business lines registered growth,” with the exception of television revenues, which were marginally lower last season than in 2023-24. Moreover, in particular, in 2024-25, the men’s squad finished second in the LALIGA, lost to fierce rivals FC Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey knockout cup tournament, and were eliminated from the lucrative pan-European UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals.
In terms of recent commercial activities, Real Madrid renewed their agreement with Cisco, a manufacturer of telecommunications and networking devices, late last month. The collaboration will focus on boosting digital solutions and services surrounding the team’s Santiago Bernabeu home stadium, as well as at Real Madrid City training facilities.
Furthermore, improvements will involve building an AI-ready data centre at Real Madrid City, installing Cisco Wi-Fi 7 at the training facility, and constructing “a robust 100 Gbps [gigabytes per second] infrastructure” connecting the Bernabeu to Real Madrid City. Cisco has been significantly involved in powering the Bernabeu’s technical upgrade in recent years, as part of the venue’s total reconstruction and refurbishment, which has a seating capacity of 83,000 and has been ongoing for several years.
GlobalData Sport assessed the Cisco-Real Madrid collaboration for the 2024-25 season at $2.6 million for the single campaign.
