Real Madrid land partnership with BMW

The main goal of the agreement is to collaborate on projects in the areas of future mobility, sustainability, and diversity.

The LaLiga club, Real Madrid have announced a new partnership with the German multinational car manufacturer, BMW.

The main goal of the agreement is to collaborate on projects in the areas of future mobility, sustainability, and diversity. The President of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez and Manuel Terroba, Executive Chairman of BMW Group Spain and Portugal, presided over the occasion in the boardroom in Madrid City. This collaboration signifies both organisations’ shared values and goals for the future.

In this new association, the UEFA Champions League 2021-22 winners’ men’s and women’s first teams, as well as their coaching staff, will be offered 100% electric cars as a means of transportation. The individuals will have an option to select from any of the current models: iX, i4, iX3, i7 or iX1.

Both entities will maintain a conservation partnership centre in which good practices will be communicated across typical work sessions with other contributors at the club in order to achieve a common learning process. This discussion board will also form the basis of motivation for new ideas dedicated to promoting new solutions that will improve the environment and society as a whole.

The President of BMW Group Spain, Manuel Terroba, said, “Real Madrid not only represents the world’s leading sporting institution, but also an organisation in constant evolution, striving for excellence in its activities based on demand, talent, quality and leadership. It also has a firm commitment to sustainability, solidarity, diversity and a winning spirit.

“This makes the club the perfect partner to address the challenges of the present and the future. Both institutions will work together to promote these values and, above all, respect for the environment, which represents a long-standing commitment to sustainable mobility, given that in 2022, the BMW Group will be marking 50 years since it unveiled its first electric BMW.”

Another goal of this collaboration is to team up on development strategies that result in the long construction of the modern Santiago Bernabéu stadium. In addition, the NEXT Sustainability Trophy will be unveiled. This will recognise participants’ innovative and sustainable works, with the purpose of bringing attention to all environmental initiatives.
