Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has announced that they will be honoring the Covid heroes by wearing tribute jersey throughout the tournament.
The slogan ‘My COVID Heroes’ will be written on the back of their playing, as well as training jerseys, paying tribute to the frontline professionals against the pandemic.
The virtual launch of the jersey was attended by RCB chairman Sanjeev Churiwala, skipper Virat Kohli, Parthiv Patel and young opener Devdutt Paddikal. The tag-line of RCB ‘Play Bold’ stands for staying strong amidst all the difficulties and barriers.
RCB wants to take this opportunity to thank the Covid Heroes who are relentlessly and selflessly fighting for a greater cause. In addition, RCB is also supporting the GiveIndia Foundation.
After the first match, players’ jerseys will be auctioned to raise funds that will further be donated as charity.
RCB chairman Sanjeev Churiwala said, “Humanity is going to be grateful to them for many generations to come and through this campaign, we wanted to be among the first to pay tribute to their challenger spirit both on and off the field.”
Virat Kohli said, “In the past few months, whenever I heard the stories of the Covid Heroes it has given me literal goosebumps. These real challengers have made the country proud and inspired all of us to be more persistent and dedicated to our efforts to build a better tomorrow.”
