Rajasthan Royals appoints Zameer Kochar as new CMO

Zameer Kochar has worked with Philips, Sony India and Inter Miles.

Indian Premier League team, Rajasthan Royals has named Zameer Kochar as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Kochar was earlier the Vice President-Marketing & Member Engagement at Inter Miles (part of Jet Airways frequent flyer programme). Kochar is a vastly experienced person having worked at Godfrey Phillips India, Star India and Hindustan Unilever before. Moreover, he was also the Head of Marketing – Brand & Promotions at LoyaltyOne.

Rajasthan Royals is an IPL team based in Jaipur that was founded in 2008. The franchise is currently owned by the Emerging Media Pvt Ltd that has 65%of the stake, which is led by Manoj Badle. The minority stakeholders include Trevor Penney and Lachlan Murdoch.

Before IPL 2021 was suspended earlier this year, Rajasthan Royals had acquired the fifth spot on the points table with six points in seven matches. In the second phase of the competition, RR will be playing Punjab Kings on September 21 in their first fixture. RR is likely to move ahead in phase 2 of IPL 2021 without Ben Stokes, Jos Butler and Jofra Archer who have opted out due to several reasons.
